Cynthia Nixon “Would Like To Clarify … Bisexuality Is Not A Choice”

January 30, 2012

I usually only post articles on legal issues, but the controversy over Cynthia Nixon’s statements has hit close to home.  Not only is her hesitance to identify as bisexual indicative of a certain amount of prejudice against the B in LGBT, but this issue of “choice” is relevant when we challenge laws in court under an equal protection claim.

The article by David Badash at The New Civil Rights Movement.

That is what I thought she meant.

I assumed that's what she meant all along….am glad she came forward and made it clearer however.
Damage control as it were :-)

I'm glad she clarified it because she made it seem like she was choosing. There's a difference between "getting into a same-sex relationship" and "choosing to be attracted to the same-sex." So, good for her being bisexual as I thought all along.
