Black History Month: Let’s embrace gay marriage [Washington Post]

February 3, 2012

“We’re in the midst of “Black” History Month, which celebrates the significant accomplishments and contributions of African Americans to American culture. One of the highlights was Martin Luther King Jr.’s push for equality through non-violent social protest.

“Under his leadership, the Civil Rights Movement eviscerated the very tenants of separate but equal. In that spirit, let’s use this month to fully embrace civil rights for all by recognizing the right of same-sex couples to marry.”
