Goal Achieved! A Thank You to Prop8TrialTracker.com
March 22, 2011
By Adam Bink
We did it! We hit $12,000 to keep Prop8TrialTracker.com going and fund our work on Prop 8, marriage equality, DOMA and “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” repeal! I was so pumped I flipped on my camera (first fuzzy 8 seconds still processing):
Thank you, thank you, thank you. Onward and upward!

Hey there, P8TT — I'm sorry to post an unrelated note, but I need some help badly. I desperately need to know if there is a way for me to go back and view all the posts I've made in the archives. Is there anyway for me (or someone) to do that easily? Thanks to any help you guys can offer.

every once and awhile I have to read anti-SSM opinion letters: http://www.carrollcountytimes.com/news/opinion/le…

So much ignorance.
So little time.
It seems, plainmike, that those who are determined to cling to their bigoted beliefs, no matter what, will always be with us. A very unfortunate fact of life.

sadly, people like this probably won't ever change their views. we will only lose their view through attrition (i.e. they died) and only hope they didn't leave their view to their offspring.

Thanks Gregory. Your comments were just the right thing to wake up to this morning for both Cherie and I. Cherie is just the most amazing person I ever met. My luck in finding her is beyond the odds of the universe.
When we do talks for students and other groups, she often asks the people there how many of them have ever been in love. Depends on the age group as to how many will raise their hands, but then she goes on to ask how many would still be in love if they knew their partner had to face something like I have. This really strikes to the heart of the question of what is love, and the audience gets it very quickly because of that. Cherie is one fantastic person!

Hey, Tracy. I don't know if there's a 'site way' to do that, but I do know a Google way.
Copy and paste this into your Google search bar: site:prop8trialtracker.com tracy
It will find every post on this exact site with the word 'Tracy' in it. Some of these might be other Tracys, but I bet what you're looking for is in there.
Hope this helps.

Oh MAN this letter is a classic. There should be a drinking game!
The gay marriage proponents based their beliefs on what I consider two lies that they repeat over and over, the first being that individuals currently living the homosexual lifestyle are born that way and have no choice, which I believe is false because as of the writing of this letter no factual evidence has ever been found producing the definitive genetic link of gay at birth, despite untold millions and time poured into finding such link. The gay lobby repeats this lie often enough that most people just accept it.
"Being gay is a choice!" *drink*
The second lie is that they do not have equal rights. Sure they do. They have the same inalienable rights that every other American is born with. They have the right to marry, provided it's with someone of the opposite sex.
"Gay people have the right to marry someone of the opposite sex!" *drink*
Really when you boil it all down, it is my personal belief that gays don't really want to be married, they want their lifestyle choice normalized, and marriage is just the vehicle they are driving to get there. Only there is nowhere to park that vehicle.
"They want people to think that being gay is normal!" *drink*
But come on, their vehicle isn't marriage, it's the big gay steamroller!
(Hope I could give you grin)

when you hear the same lame arguments over and over, it is intoxicating isn't it? And, we all know the counter-arguments, to which if actually offered this person the counter-arguments, we would only get more of the same stuff (or no response at all) because there really are no good arguments on their side
still fun to read every once and awhile as a reminder of what we are up against.

I don't drink, but every time I hear the garbage from NOM it makes me want to.
23.
truthspew | March 22, 2011 at 11:18 am
I'm glad you guys hit the mark. But I'll be honest, I want to see us raise as much as the bigots at NOM can raise. It is the only way we'll ever have parity with them and be able to counter them.

Sadly it seems our pockets are not nearly as deep as the Catholic and LDS churches.
If we could get our celeb allies and LGBT members to cough up some dough maybe….but I ain't seen Ellen and others write no checks lately.

They do, just not usually to grassroots orgs – more likely to orgs like HRC. (don't get me started on HRC…)
