I see a political cartoon in all this…..

Imagine a bunch of brawny buff military men up on chairs screeching Eek! while a tiny mouse with GAY written on it frantically runs around on the ground.

Dare I say it?…I derst… What a bunch of freakin' PANSIES!!!

Felyx, who long ago expected more of the military.

  • 14. Waxr  |  March 4, 2010 at 4:48 pm

The Army's Chief of Staff does not know how to lift DADT?

That's easy compared to fighting a war in Afghanistan. But then, we haven't done too well in Afghanistan. Do you think there might be a leadership problem with our military leaders?

  • 19. Ed-M  |  March 4, 2010 at 8:21 pm

I think there is a leadership problem in the military. They seem to have a need to process everything to death. Forget the process, end DADT… Just do it already…

Army chief sees ‘anxiety’ on lifting ban on gays
By DAN ELLIOTT (AP) – 5 hours ago

FORT CARSON, Colo. — Army Chief of Staff Gen. George W. Casey said Thursday he sees anxiety in the armed services over how possible changes in the law that bans openly gay servicemen and women would be implemented…… (me)hearsay]

The military must look hard at how a new policy would be put into force to alleviate those concerns, Casey said during a visit to Fort Carson, where he met with commanders and troops from two brigades preparing to deploy, one to Iraq and one to Afghanistan.
President Barack Obama wants to change the 1993 law known as “don’t ask, don’t tell,” saying it unfairly punishes people who want to serve……..(me) He’s your commander and chief….you have to listen to him.]

Defense Secretary Robert Gates has ordered a comprehensive study on how to lift the ban without hurting the forces.
In testimony before Congress last week, Casey and Air Force Chief of Staff Gen. Norton Schwartz said they had serious concerns about lifting the ban with two wars raging…….(me) you need more soldiers that’s should be your only concern]

Casey raised those concerns again Thursday, saying it’s important to have accurate data on how soldiers and their families feel about lifting the ban and implementing a new policy…..(me) again what about how the LGBTQQI and their families feel about lifting the ban….it’s their job get over it and do your fu<king job]

"We've all kind of gone around and done our own informal polling, but that's not sufficient to make a judgment of this level while we're in the middle of a war," he said……(me) what war?…The war on terroristic thoughts and idea?….tell me how do stop someones thoughts?..EZT?…..Electro Shock therapy?…..Watching Annie?]

He said it's important to give everyone in the armed forces the chance to speak up without fear of retribution…..(me) but because of DADT….over 60thou as well as family and friends cannot speak up….. sooooo….how?]

Catholic School Boots Student For Gay Parents
    By Julie Bolcer

"A pre-school student at a Catholic school in Boulder, Colorado will not be allowed to return next year because the child’s parents are lesbians living together, which the Denver Archdiocese calls a violation of the school’s beliefs and policy. "

    (me) WTF

"Homosexual couples living together as a couple are in disaccord with Catholic teaching."

(me) soooooo…but paying for male prostitutes is ok?……Molesting mostly little boys and some girls is ok?….They have surpassed the kettle and have gone right for the cauldron.

"Parents living in open discord with Catholic teaching in areas of faith and morals unfortunately choose by their actions to disqualify their children from enrollment,” said the Archdiocese."

(me) WOW they really are over playing that sins of the father card….or in this case "sins" of the two mothers…budda bah….

Theres a video that goes with this article…..<3…Ronnie

  • 27. Dieter  |  March 5, 2010 at 2:15 am

LOL..this is gonna give alot of people a stroke:

Gay age of consent may be lowered to 16
The age of consent for gay men in Guernsey could be reduced to 16, if the island's politicians agree.

Later this month the States are due to debate if the laws should be made equal for homosexuals and heterosexuals.

Currently sex between two men is illegal under the age of 18, but between a man and a woman is legal from the age of 16.

The Home Department, which has put forward the move, said there needed to be equality on human rights grounds.

The department said according to legal advice anybody who objects to the change on moral or religious grounds is unlikely to be justified in law.

The changes would also strike from the law-books the current ban on sex between more than two men at the same time.

In 1999, Guernsey lowered the age of consent for homosexuals from 21 to 18 and the issue was last raised in the States in 2007.

  • 28. David Kimble  |  March 5, 2010 at 2:18 am

Jeesh! And just what planet do these folks live on? However, it has been widely known and documented the Catholic Church is extremely homophobic – still I am wondering how they can claim to have the "TRUTH", when so many of their "priests" are gay. <3 David

  • 29. K!r!lleXXI  |  March 5, 2010 at 2:23 am

    (about Dieter's article)
Time and time again I get convinced that Russian laws are actually more gay-friendly… We have the same age of consent for heteros and homos (16, btw), no blood donation issues since 2008 (US still has a ban, so I've heard), open military service for gays is available (of course, you gotta be a mental case to reveal it, but still)… Maybe I should stay put in Russia after all? :) Mmmmmm…

Thanx, Mark does a great job of dissecting them – I loved the article – I am including a quote from his article that I thought was particularly good! <3 David

"In other words, I imagine the Concerned Women for America much like I imagine neo-Nazi skinheads in rural Idaho, wacky black metal dudes from Norway, or "Real Housewives" cast members; a weird and ragtag huddle of unstable, nervous humans smelling faintly of stale Doritos and light beer, who have endured a complete lack of agreeable sexual contact since, well, ever."

Xbox Lives Lifts Ban on Gay Gamertags
Written by Jonathan Higbee | Friday, 05 March 2010
Tags: microsoft, xbox live, gamertags, profiles, sexuality

Microsoft is now allowing Xbox gamers who use its Xbox Live service to come out of the closet. After a fair amount of controversy for a policy that forced users to remain silent on their sexuality — which Microsoft claims was for their protection — the company has today announced changes to its policy. Besides now letting gamers declare religion, race and nationality, Xbox Live lets has finally allowed players the option to plug in their sexuality, including the pre-determined classifications gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight. Slang terms are still not allowed out of fear of harassment. How long until queer, questioning and other viable identities pressure the gaming giant?

(me) I don't play Xbox…but why can't the armed forces be this easy to break down?…..<3…Ronnie

  • 43. K!r!lleXXI  |  March 5, 2010 at 3:22 am

gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and straight

WTF? Transgender person can be gay, lesbian, bisexual, or straight… Is it not true? That's a slap for transgender people…

Well I think that is sort of true, Kirill…I'm not trans…so I don't know…maybe its just for the recognition part….that Transgendered people are in fact people…..I'm interested in finding out what Michelle Evans thinks about this…..<3…Ronnie

Day 4 trial videos, we're on the dry side and a bit boring, regarding all the math and numbers, The S.F. city economist did a great job, pointing out the revenue from gay weddings, I loved his statement that yes there is a wedding industry in the city.
All I kept thinking is Ronnie's earlier comments about strike, stop doing their hair, stop waiting on their tables, we could really drive home the downside to the economy quiet quickly I think.
When we were married here in Vancouver Canada, the commissioner told us she has been really wowed by gay weddings, and a lot of them are couples from other countries, many quite elaborate ceremonies. The economist did make the point that S.F. is already a tourist destination , (just make that connection who wouldn't want to celebrate their union in the city that was so friendly to us in our youth, while coming out, I for one will never forget )
I feel he could have talked more about the costs to the economy regarding discrimination, with particular regard to health care counselling and mental health issues that are required by people who are victims of discrimination,
Like how many times these victims wind up in emergency at hospitals.
They came close with the five or so documents regarding hate crimes which were not allowed into evidence, this was a hudge stumbling block which I felt the lawyer dealt with the best way she could, a moment of silence, she was stumped, but that long pause or silence resonated with me, she later got the documents entered as court documents or something, I hope they find a way to bring those out and talk about the costs of hate crimes, (LIFE ITSELF)
Wait a minute they could spin that into a boost to the economy by increasing the number of funerals.

  • 48. Ronnie  |  March 5, 2010 at 3:53 am

Yes!! STRIKE!! STRIKE!!!!…..destroy the economy and show them how much they need us….hahahahahahahahahahah……<3…Ronnie

  • 49. Ronnie  |  March 5, 2010 at 4:12 am

Burns said gay couples couldn't be compared with interracial couples.
"I cannot hide my color," Burns said. "Gays and lesbians can hide their relationships."

(me). you see again I hate to say I told you so…but I told you the hateros want to re-criminalize LGBTQQI people…..what is it that my 1st grade teacher use to tell me?…."it's can I…….It's may I"…..well in this case it's not about can we hide our relationships its about we don't want to and we(by law) don't have too….Hey Burns….nobody give a flying mile high fu<k what you think about 2 men kissing…..your personal and private o.p. is not required nor desired….but in public, in relation to my rights, and by law….STFU…..<3….Ronnie

  • 50. Ronnie  |  March 5, 2010 at 4:13 am

shite…she said "it's not can I….It's may I"…..holy typo for crying out loud batman….lol…..<3…Ronnie

  • 53. Sheryl  |  March 5, 2010 at 4:27 am

Just had to reply about the question of teaching cross-dressing. I find it quite ironic that it is okay for females to dress in men's clothing but not for males to dress in female clothing. Double standard happening there.

Other than that, just another right wing religious group who has swallowed all of the lies.

  • 54. Bob  |  March 5, 2010 at 4:33 am

Yes Ronnie, did you say last night you had a chi. cause that's what I have I got mine from Texas, call him my rescue dog cause I rescued him from a life in Bush Country

Re those strikes, along with that wouldn't civil rights marches and civil disobedience, require an increased cost for policing, closure of streets, loss of business. jam the streets.

  • 55. Ronnie  |  March 5, 2010 at 4:37 am

    Yup….a 3&1/2yo chihuahua…named Woody…lol

and yes those strikes, marches, and all that will cost the gov….billions of dollars…that is why i say the Hateros and gov are so beyond ignorant of American history and are so blind to the parallels….They are in for a rude awakening…..<3…Ronnie

  • 58. Kathleen  |  March 5, 2010 at 5:00 am

I never really thought about this before, but I guess R would be considered a "straight ally"? (I'm bi; he's not)

  • 59. K!r!lleXXI  |  March 5, 2010 at 5:03 am

    @Kathleen
    Thanks for telling his name!
And yes, I think he would be a straight ally (A in LGBTQQIA), but your description "I'm bi; he's not" leaves options for him — gay and straight. :)

  • 60. Felyx  |  March 5, 2010 at 5:32 am

One thing to consider….despite the laws…can you live openly gay and not get harassed to death!!! I have been able to be openly gay and have most everyone I know be civil at the very worst!

The laws are changing here fast…in NC the age of consent is equal (16) but every state is different.

Also, FYI, I was doing some looking into the arguments of the 'slippery slope' concept and I found some interesting stuff… sacramental polygamy is legal!!! Only civil polygamy is illegal and enforced. Moreover, incest is usually only punished if a) it violates age of consent or b) there was a resulting child. There are many incestuous couples that are simply not married but still are together without legal consequence or harassment and in a few states it is legal to marry a very close relative if it can be proved there will be no offspring..it seems incestuous marriage is already legal! So much for those arguments!!!

(Still not going to try to marry my hot cousins…) Felyx

  • 61. Felyx  |  March 5, 2010 at 5:38 am

Forgot to mention…Russia is considering Polygamous Civil Marriage…but I am not sure why.

Russia 2009 Polygamous civil marriage Proposed

    Felyx

  • 62. K!r!lleXXI  |  March 5, 2010 at 6:29 am

    @Felyx
In my personal experience in Russia, even talking about gays and gay rights, without revealing that I am gay myself, got me into a great deal of trouble. Only a small number of people either supported me, or just said they had no issue with gays and didn't give a shit about who screws whom and how. That was the best reaction. The rest hundreds of people varied from "I don't really understand how people can be that way" to "It's disgusting" to "It's the greatest sin ever" to "Kill those pedophiles NOW".

As for polygamous marriages considered in Russia… It's nothing serious and it won't pass anyway. Just think about all those bills that Russian legislature considers all the time about outlawing gays and lesbians all over again… happens all the time, but they do not do this — for now, they need European support against USA and China, they cannot allow themselves to alienate Europe, and Europe will definitely make a bid issue out of this if we re-criminalize homosexual sex between/among consenting adults. But, of course, Russian legislators would do this in a heartbeat, given the opportunity without such grave consequences.

As for slippery slopes arguments, some time ago I hung around Queerty-dot-com and stumbled upon this great article — Gay Marriage and Polygamy (by Dale Carpenter) — this is simply the best article about anti-polygamy arguments, a very careful examination of arguments that show it cannot be used as a slippery slope argument in conversations about same-sex marriage. I applaud Dale Carpenter!

    1.) Salem
    2.) Revolutionary War
    3.) Civil War
    4.) Civil Rights
    5.) Interracial Marriages
    6.) Women's Rights

    and now Equal Rights…..<3…Ronnie

I don't understand why the freely available http://MarriageTrial.com Prop 8 re-enactment videos are not prominently featured on this site, on the home page. A link to MarriageTrial.com isn't even in the blog roll.

You can grab YouTube video playlists for each of the 12 days of the trial from http://youtube.com/marriagetrial.

Or you can display all the videos in one embeddable playlist player. You can grab the embed code here: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=73FA1FC20…
