But they'll use this method on the whole male population. He doesn't agree that all of them are likely to happen, but apparently he does agree that the majority will. It appears that it was an attempt in the book to list all the good things associated with gay marriage and then (guessing here) showing why just because they were good, they weren't compelling enough to inconvenience straight people over.
